ID Verification for an Authorized Representative

Current Functionality

If an interview is being conducted with an Authorized Representative, the worker must verify the identity of the Authorized Representative as well as the applicant. Currently, the VaCMS does not have a field to enter ID Verification for the Authorized Representative.  

Interim Business Process for Identity Verification for an Authorized Representative

On the Client Demographics page, enter the ID Verification obtained for the applicant. Use the Case Comments feature to document that the Authorized Representative was interviewed in place of the applicant and how ID was verified for the Authorized Representative. Workers should follow the process below for ID Verification for an Authorized Representative:

  1. On the Client Demographics page, click the Comments icon at the top of the page.

  2. The Comments box displays at the bottom of the page.

  3. Enter comments detailing how the Authorized Representative was interviewed in place of the applicant, as well as how the ID for the Authorized Representative was verified.

  4. Click Save + Continue.
