MA Spousal Share Determination Results

Use this procedure to view the results for a Spousal Share Determination case for an Institutionalized Individual. This page gives you the ability to recalculate the Spousal Share Determination, view combined resource details for the customer and spouse and individual details for the customer and spouse.

Process Steps:

The Spousal Share Determination page displays.

- Review the Countable Share information of the applicant and spouse as appropriate, including:
- - Vehicle
  - Real Property
  - Liquid Assets
  - Personal Property
  - Life Insurance
  - Total Countable Resource Amount
  - Total Resources of Both on the first day of the first continuous period of institutionalization
  - Spousal Share on the first day of the first continuous period of institutionalization
  - Undue Hardship Status
  - Resources Assessment Status

Click Recalculate to recalculate spousal share determination.
Click Authorize to submit the LTC Resource Assessment.
Click Continue to return to the Case Action page.
Click the Resource Details tab to view the Medicaid - Individual Resource Details.

- Select the individual’s or spouse’s name from the Individual ID dropdown menu.
- Review the information below as appropriate, including:
- - Real Property
  - Vehicle
  - Liquid Assets
  - Personal Property
  - Burial
  - Life Insurance Of Applicant

To override the Spousal Share Determination Amount, click Resource Assessment Override in the Left Navigation menu.

- The Resource Assessment Override page displays
- Enter the Individual ID.
- Click Search.
- Enter the Override Amount.
- Select the Override Reason from the dropdown menu.
- Click Submit.

If you enter an Override Amount and click Submit, the newly entered value will replace the system value in the Spousal Protected Resource Amount.

Results of the Procedure

The eligibility results are viewed for the Institutionalized Individual case which has just been run.
