Reinstate a Case

Use this procedure to reinstate a closed or denied case by changing the case status, running eligibility and certifying the eligibility results.

Only reinstate a case when a case is closed or denied in error, an appeal is found to be in the favor of the client, or a case is closed and a client performs corrective actions within the 14 day period for a case closure that did not immediately change the authorization status to discontinue.

Process Steps:

  1. From the Left Navigation menu, select Data Collection, then Case Action.

  2. Enter the Case or Application or Screening Number or click the search icon and proceed to Search for Client to search for the case, application, or waiting list screening number (required).

  3. Select Reinstate Case from the What action do you want to perform? dropdown menu.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Verify that the correct Case Action has been selected.

  6. Select Yes from the Do you wish to continue? dropdown menu.

  7. Click Next.

  8. Select the checkbox(es) next to the program(s) for reinstatement.

 

  1. Denied Child Care programs cannot be reinstated.

  2. Closed Child Care programs can only be reinstated when there are no other active programs on the case, and no other programs are selected for reinstate.

  3. Denied or Closed MA programs cannot be reinstated if an active Child Care program exists on the case.

  4. EAP programs cannot be reinstated.

  5. SNAP programs cannot be reinstated:

    • If the program was closed for more than 180 days

    • More than 60 days after program is denied.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. “Reinstate Date” will default to the current date.

  2. Select the Reinstate Reason from the dropdown menu.

  3. Enter the Interim Report Received Date, if applicable (enabled and required when the Reinstate Reason is Interim Report Received and the program is SNAP).

  4. Click Next.

  5. Complete the necessary steps to update the case. Then, run Eligibility and Certify / Authorize the results to complete the reinstatement process.  

Results of the Procedure:

The closed or denied case is reinstated.
