Use this procedure to reinstate a closed or denied case by changing the case status, running eligibility and certifying the eligibility results.
Only reinstate a case when a case is closed or denied in error, an appeal is found to be in the favor of the client, or a case is closed and a client performs corrective actions within the 14 day period for a case closure that did not immediately change the authorization status to discontinue.
From the Left Navigation menu, select Data Collection, then Case Action.
The Case Action page displays.
Enter the Case or Application or Screening Number or click the search icon and proceed to Search for Client to search for the case, application, or waiting list screening number (required).
Select Reinstate Case from the What action do you want to perform? dropdown menu.
Click Next.
The Case Action Confirmation page displays.
Verify that the correct Case Action has been selected.
Select Yes from the Do you wish to continue? dropdown menu.
Click Next.
The Initiate Reinstate page displays.
All programs on the case with a status of Closed or Denied display along with their Program Request Date and Program Status from the most recent program request.
Select the checkbox(es) next to the program(s) for reinstatement.

“Reinstate Date” will default to the current date.
If needed, modify the Reinstate Date. The Reinstate Date must be after the Request Date, and cannot be a future date.
Select the Reinstate Reason from the dropdown menu.
Enter the Interim Report Received Date, if applicable (enabled and required when the Reinstate Reason is Interim Report Received and the program is SNAP).
Click Next.
The Household Information page displays.
Complete the necessary steps to update the case. Then, run Eligibility and Certify / Authorize the results to complete the reinstatement process.
The closed or denied case is reinstated.
