Reassigning a Case in the VaCMS

Reassign Case / Application

Follow the steps below to reassign a case to another worker.

  1. From the Left Navigation menu, select Maintain LDSS Resources, and then Case / Application Assignment.

  2. Enter the Case Number or Application / Screening Number or click the search icon and proceed to Search for Client to search for the case, application, or waiting list screening number (required).

  3. Click the Display button and the Current Worker Assignment Details populates.

  4. Enter the Worker 1 ID or click the search icon and proceed to Search for an Employee Profile to search for the worker identification who receives the reassigned case, application, or waiting list screening number (required).

  5. Enter the Worker 2 ID or click the search icon and proceed to Search for an Employee Profile to search for the worker identification who receives the reassigned case, application, or waiting list screening number (optional).

  6. Enter the Worker 3 ID or click the search icon and proceed to Search for an Employee Profile to search for the worker identification who receives the reassigned case, application, or waiting list screening number (optional).

  7. Enter the Worker 4 ID or click the search icon and proceed to Search for an Employee Profile to search for the worker identification who receives the reassigned case, application, or waiting list screening number (optional).

  8. Enter the Worker 5 ID or click the search icon and proceed to Search for an Employee Profile to search for the worker identification who receives the reassigned case, application, or waiting list screening number (optional).

  9. Click Assign to display the new Primary Worker ID in the Current Worker Assignment Details.

  10. Click Transfer to LDSS Worker to assign the case to the local department’s primary worker for the appropriate program

      • Medical Assistance

      • Child Care

Note: If the application is associated with an existing active case, the new application will be assigned to the case’s primary worker.

  1. Click Transfer Case when the locality of the case does not match the locality of the assigned case worker and you need to re-assign the case to an LDSS worker in the locality associated with the case.
    Note: Only ongoing Approved cases can be transferred using the Transfer Case button

  2. Click Submit.
    Note: Cases are not transferred immediately; they are transferred overnight by the VaCMS.

  3. Click Submit to complete the reassignment.

  4. Case reassignments are immediate.
