Initiate an Authorization

Use this procedure to initiate a new authorization.

Process Steps:

  1. From the Left Navigation menu, select Authorization Management, then select Maintain Authorization, then Authorization Search.

  2. In the Authorization Search section:

     

    To search for an eligible child that does not have an existing authorization you must enter the Case # in the search criteria. Enter information in some or all of the fields to decrease or expand the search range as appropriate. The more criteria entered the more specific the search results will be.

     

  3. Click Search.

  4. Select the Initiate radio button next to a child.

  5. Click the Initiate Authorization button.

 

If  a child receives care from multiple vendors, create one authorization for each vendor.

Results of the Procedure:

A new authorization is initiated.
