The VaCMS allows you to reinstate Closed and Denied service requests for Cooling, Crisis, and Fuel Assistance. Each program has specific reinstatement criteria. You can reinstate Denied or Closed Fuel Assistance The VaCMS allows you to reinstate Closed and Denied service requests for Cooling, Crisis, and Fuel Assistance. Each program has specific reinstatement criteria. You can reinstate Denied or Closed Fuel Assistance requests for the current program year, and reinstate Denied Crisis or Cooling cases for the current program year.
Performing a Reinstatement
From the Left Navigation menu, click EAP, then click EAP Inbox.
The EAP Inbox Search Criteria page displays.
Enter the case number for the case you want to reinstate in the Case # field, then click Search.
Click the radio button next to the case being reinstated, and then click Update Application/Case.
From the Left Navigation menu, click EAP Reinstate.

Enter the Reinstate Date.
Select the Reinstate Reason from the dropdown menu.
Click Submit and the case will update to a Pending status.
Navigate to the EAP Inbox on the Left Navigation menu to access the case.
The EAP Inbox Search Criteria page displays.
Enter the case number for the case you want to reinstate in the Case # field, then click Search
Note that the component type is now in Pending status.
Click the radio button next to the reinstated case.
Click Update Application/Case.
Follow the EAP driver flow for the reinstated service request, reviewing and updating fields as needed based on new information included on the customer’s application.
Run eligibility and certify/authorize the results.

Note: If you revisit the EAP Reinstate page before running eligibility, the service record status will show the prior Closed/Denied status. You must complete the entire reinstate flow by running eligibility and certifying/authorizing the results for the status of the service records to reflect the new status.
